Outdoor Stone Patio Design with Fireplace in Vienna, VA

O’Grady’s Landscape is proud to present a recently completed hardscape design and install located in Vienna, VA. Our Vienna, VA clients have a beautiful home and yard but wanted to have a year-round outdoor space to gather with their family and friends. Warmth is a key for year-round outdoor entertainment so a fireplace was top on their list of must-haves.  Our clients already had a beautiful deck and steps leading down to their lawn, however, the backyard lawn space was not being maximized. The lawn underneath the deck included a substantial part of the lawn, which did not receive enough sunlight to grow grass. This area was also being used as an outdoor storage collection area, which was not optimal. The lawn space on the side of the house was large enough to develop a landscape plan that encapsulated everything our clients wanted in an outdoor living room. Our client expressed the desire for:

• a usable and attractive space under the deck area
• access to the backyard from the front and side yards
• a stone patio
• a centerpiece fireplace to pull it all together

We discussed options for materials, the design of fireplace, lighting options, stepping stone path ideas and how to address the area under the deck. Our final product is a gorgeous welcoming flagstone pathway under the deck with a CAST lighting system leading to the patio. The walkway is flagged with riverstones adding texture and drainage function. We installed a stone stepper path from the front yard leading down to the stone patio. The home is now secured with several welcoming and attractive accesses to the backyard entertaining space achieving seamless fluidity. The main patio design continues with the flagstone and lighting system keeping everything crisp and concise. The focal point of the outdoor room is the gorgeous stone fireplace! It is a show stopper fireplace that draws families together making lasting memories! Our clients are ready to enjoy their new home space all winter long and for years to come. We are very proud of the outcome of the job from the design, installation and final product.
